Having spent much of my childhood living in Maenclochog, I grew up familiar with the legacy of the renowned Welsh poet Waldo Williams, whose memorial stone stands in neighbouring Mynachlogddu. His words, life and poetry came alive through school lessons, deepening my appreciation for his work and the connection between poetry and place. His writing has continued to inspire me creatively, influencing many pieces of my artwork and allowing me to explore the landscape, history and sense of belonging that his words so beautifully capture.
